Advent is a season of anticipation, twinkling candles, the scent of pine, and delicious treats. At Nääs, the grand Christmas tree stands beautifully decorated in the castle’s hall, and visitors can step back in time and learn about Christmas traditions of old.
Sip traditional glögg in the castle kitchen, embark on a festive adventure for the whole family, and soak in the cosy atmosphere of Nääs Castle Shop and the charming café.
Nääs Castle Shop
Thoughtful Christmas gifts await in the delightful Nääs Castle Shop Castle Shop, located in the historic grain store next to the castle. Here, you’ll find a perfect blend of nostalgic new items and carefully selected antiques.
Guidad tours in the castle
Step inside and immerse yourself in the enchanting holiday spirit at Nääs Castle, where the Christmas tree is elegantly adorned for the season. On this guided Christmas tour, you’ll discover the fascinating history of Nääs, learn about Christmases of the past, and admire the splendidly decorated tree standing proudly in the castle’s hall.
Guided Christmas Tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays during Advent at Nääs Castle.
- 11:00, 12:00, 13:30, and 15:00
- Each tour lasts around 45 minutes.
- Tickets: 160 SEK per person. Children aged 7–16: 60 SEK. Children 0–6: free when accompanied by an adult.
- Entrance to the castle is by guided tour only.
- Please note, the castle can be chilly and is not wheelchair accessible.
- NOTE! The tours will be in Swedish.
You are welcome to join and will then have access to a booklet in English so you can follow the story.

Christmas Market in the Old Stables In the charming old stables, next to the cosy café and castle shop, you'll discover a delightful selection of artisans and craftspeople showcasing their handmade wares.
With around ten exhibitors, the market offers a variety of unique, beautifully crafted gifts, and the selection changes each weekend, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.
Traditional Swedish glögg in the castle kitchen
Step into the historic castle kitchen and warm up with a cup of glögg, served by the castle’s maids and footmen. It's the perfect way to embrace the Christmas atmosphere at Nääs.
Christmas Adventure for the whole family
Back by popular demand, our much-loved family Christmas adventure returns! In this outdoor activity, children and adults team up to search for Christmas sacks hidden around the castle grounds.
The final goal is to find Father Christmas himself, who will reward you with a special Christmas gift. But beware, the mischievous Yule Goat might make an appearance, thinking he’s the true star of Christmas!
- The adventure starts at Nääs Castle Shop at 11 am to 3 pm.
- Price: 100 SEK per map, including a gift from Father Christmas.
- No pre-booking required.

Dancing around the christmas tree
At 12:00, join us outside for a joyful dance around the Christmas tree! Both young and old are welcome to take part in this playful tradition, guaranteed to bring smiles and festive cheer.

Horse and carriage rides
Enjoy a delightful horse and carriage ride between 12:00 and 15:00. Boarding and disembarking will most likely take place in front of the castle, offering a charming way to experience the grounds.
Folk Christmas music and Nääs Christmas Choir
Soak in the sounds of traditional Christmas music performed at Nääs Castle Shop at 14:00.
Kaffestugan (café)
And why not treat yourself to hot glögg in the castle kitchen or indulge in classic rice pudding, Christmas sandwiches, and Advent coffee at the cosy café Kaffestugan next to Nääs Castle?
Step back in time as you savour the tastes of turn-of-the-century cuisine in an authentic rural setting, with food and baked goods inspired by what would have been served at Nääs in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

These days there are free busses to and from Nääs Castle, the parking areas and the Christmas market at Nääs Fabriker in Tollered.
